She then changed career to spend eight years with the Royal Australian Navy in combat systems and electronic warfare analysis, re-entering teaching in WA in 2006 and taking on the role of Head of Mathematics. Rachael is a passionate mathematics teacher and a strong believer in the benefits of STEM education. Rachael is based in Perth, WA, and also works as a Professional Officer for the Mathematical Association of Western Australia. Rachael also works for AAMT as a Tempest Project Implementation Officer for WA and the Outreach Officer for the reSolve Mathematics by Inquiry Project.
Professional Officer for PrimaryEmail: email@example.com Penelope is an experienced Primary School Teacher who has taught in the Public and Private sectors throughout Western Australia, New South Wales and the United Kingdom. Penelope was responsible for running Professional Learning sessions when the Curriculum Framework was first introduced to schools. She then became Head of Department in Physical Education at her school in London. Penelope also worked for the Borough of Westminster in the UK, training Teachers in Physical Education and Early Years Movement and Maths delivery. She was also involved in talent scouting students for the London 2012 Olympics. Whilst her children were young, she studied finance and has a mortgage broking qualification. Penelope wanted to combine her love of Teaching, Learning and Mathematics and has joined MAWA as a Professional Officer in Primary. Penelope has a passion for Mathematics and is excited to be part of the STEM Learning Project. She has taught all levels of Primary school from Foundation stage through to Year 6 and is currently teaching at an Independent Public School.
