Engage in experiences that engage students in creating deep understandings of linear functions. Some formative and possibly summative assessment ideas will be explained. Audience: Year 7 – 9 teachers.

The AMC is an engaging 30-problem competition that demonstrates the importance and relevance of mathematics in students’ everyday lives; it is open to students in Years 3 to 12. Australia’s leading educators and academics, with a deep understanding of our national curriculum standards, actively design the unique AMC problems each year. Please check with your school before registering to ensure that they are not running this event as well. Due to the cost of competition papers and event preparation, no refunds are possible for this event once you have registered.

Building a deep understanding of place value is essential for students to develop strong number sense. This workshop will unpack common misconceptions and showcase routines that support whole school approaches. Targeted at Year 1 to Secondary.

This workshop delves into the core of fraction concepts including the five meanings of fractions, the concept of the whole, using number lines, exploring equivalence and calculating without rules.

This session will demonstrate how to use this resource to unlock understanding of the partial product strategy for multiplication, with links to fractions, ratios, and more.
