MAWA Inaugural Leadership Program

Are you a teacher who also takes on or aspires to leadership roles? This program is tailored specifically for individuals, from primary or secondary schools in leadership positions within mathematics/numeracy, including curriculum leaders, Heads of Learning Mathematics Area, and those aspiring to leadership roles. It is applicable for both Primary and Secondary school leaders.

Our leadership program is designed to take you on a transformative journey, equipping you with the tools for success and exploring effective methods of leading a team. This program will be particularly beneficial if you:

• Lead others.
• Aspire to take on leadership roles.
• Strive to balance the vision and direction set by senior leaders.
• Hold responsibility for educational programs.
• Seek to further develop your leadership skills.
• Need to lead teachers through the implementation of the new mathematics curriculum.

During this leadership event, we will delve into the practical aspects of guiding our students, communities, staff, and ourselves towards embracing a culture of change. Through engaging discussions and the sharing of effective strategies, we will explore:

• Understanding the dynamics of educational change in mathematics.
• Unpacking strategies to empower teams for innovation.
• Discussing effective methods for engaging students and communities.
• Considering sustainable approaches to developing our own leadership skills in a fast-paced environment.

This leadership event delves into the ‘how’ of guiding our students, communities, staff, and self towards embracing the culture of change. Through discussions and sharing of practical strategies we will seek to understand the dynamics of educational change in mathematics; unpack strategies to empower teams for innovation; discuss how we engage students and communities effectively; and consider how we develop our own leadership changes sustainably in such a fast-paced environment.
