What is the Maths Talent Quest?

Get ready to unleash the power of mathematics with the Maths Talent Quest (MTQ)!

Our mission is to ignite a passion for maths and cultivate positive attitudes among students, teachers, and parents. But this isn’t any ordinary maths competition – MTQ dares students to think outside the box and dive into the realm of creative and critical thinking.

Whether it’s investigating real-life applications, delving into the world of statistics, or unraveling the logic behind mathematical principles, MTQ encourages students to explore the endless possibilities of mathematics.

We cater to students from Kindy to Year 12, so everyone can get in on the action. Whether you’re an individual, part of a small group, or representing your entire class, MTQ has a place for you.

The rewards don’t stop at participation! All MTQ entrants in the state competition will receive a well-deserved certificate and those who truly excel, the High Distinction, Distinction and Prize winners, will be celebrated at the prestigious MTQ Awards Ceremony in October. But that’s not all – one exceptional entry from each year group category will have the chance to compete in the National Maths Talent Quest organised by the Australian Association of Mathematics Teachers (AAMT). It’s a chance for your students to showcase their skills on a national stage!

So, are you up for the challenge? Are you ready to captivate the imagination of your creative students and equip them with problem-solving strategies that go beyond the classroom? Look no further than the Maths Talent Quest. Join us on this exhilarating journey and let your students discover the practical applications and boundless wonders of mathematics. Let’s make maths an adventure like never before!
