The MAWA Leadership Community has been created to provide a direct connection between the Mathematical Association of Western Australia (MAWA) and leaders of mathematics across Western Australia.

Our aim is to foster a collaborative and supportive network where mathematics leaders can connect, share ideas, seek advice, celebrate successes and strengthen mathematics teaching and learning in their schools and organisations.

Through this community, MAWA will share:

  • Leadership-focused professional learning opportunities and events
  • Current updates and information relating to mathematics education in Western Australia
  • Research-informed practices and resources to support effective mathematics leadership
  • Opportunities to collaborate, network and learn alongside other mathematics leaders
  • Information about initiatives, programs and advocacy work shaping mathematics education across the state

Most importantly, we want to hear from you. Mathematics leaders work in diverse contexts and bring valuable perspectives, experiences and expertise. This community provides a space to discuss challenges, exchange ideas and help shape the support, resources and opportunities that MAWA provides for mathematics leaders.

Together, we can strengthen leadership in mathematics education and build a connected community committed to improving outcomes for all learners.

We look forward to learning with you and leading mathematics education forward, together.

The MAWA Regional Maths Community has been created to provide a direct connection between the Mathematical Association of Western Australia (MAWA) and mathematics teachers and schools across regional Western Australia.

Our aim is to create a supportive and connected community where regional educators can share ideas, ask questions, celebrate successes and access opportunities tailored specifically to regional schools.

Through this group, MAWA will share:

  • Professional learning opportunities designed for regional teachers
  • Student activities, competitions and events available exclusively to regional schools
  • Resources, updates and information relevant to mathematics education in regional WA
  • Opportunities for collaboration and networking with fellow educators

Most importantly, we want to hear from you. We know that regional schools have unique strengths, challenges and needs, and this group provides a platform for teachers and schools to share their experiences and help shape the support MAWA provides.

We look forward to building a strong regional mathematics community together.
