The Mathematical Association of Western Australia invites you to our first ever virtual conference. The 2022 Virtual Maths Conference will be held on Monday 28 March 2022. We are pleased to announce Tom Crawford as our keynote. Tom will be joining us live from the UK and is the face of the Tom Rocks Maths outreach program. Our theme, Maths Engaging Everyone Everywhere encapsulates inclusion despite location. The virtual conference aims to assist teachers from early childhood education, primary and secondary with their professional knowledge, practice, and engagement in mathematics education. Registrations are open, and close Sunday 13 February 2022. Virtual conference rates are extremely afforable for everyone to attend, plus there is the option to upgrade your registration to gain access to all the conference recordings for 12 months. You can check out the fees here. We have this all-star Australian line up of mathematics greats joining Tom Crawford for the virtual conference; Michael Minas, Matt Sexton, Andrew Lorimer-Derham, Thomas Moore, Cassandra Lowry, Jen Bowden, Tierney Kennedy, Fiona Foley, Kristen Tripet, Dion Alfonsi, Rachel Theunissen, Paul Swan, Shyam Drury, Donna Buckley, and Sheila Griffin. As a school, this could form the basis of your PL for the 2022 school year! Here’s what people had to say about the 2020 virtual conference! “We would definitely do the Virtual Conference again. So good for country schools- I have been telling colleagues at other schools all about it.” ~ Secondary Maths Teacher, Goldfields region “The virtual conference, I think the presenters who were online themselves really did a good job, I guess being online meant you were already thinking with the “how do I get interaction” mindset.” ~ Secondary Maths Teacher, Esperance region Stay up to date with MAWA's events and activities www.mawainc.org.au.
