The STEM Consortium
MAWA is partner in the agreement between the Department of Education and Scitech, in partnership with a consortium comprising ECAWA, MAWA and STAWA, to deliver a three-year project aimed at developing STEM teaching and learning in W.A. schools.

The broad outline of the contract between the parties relates to the delivery of:

  • 40 resource modules across Years K – 12
  • PL to support roll out across W.A.
  • Online support accessible from the DoE Connect portal

Teachers interested in  knowing more about the project or who wish to register their interest in writing materials for the project are encouraged to make initial contact  with the project Manager, Michael Peter at or the MAWA professional Officer, Rachael Whitney-Smith at

During Term 2, K-6 orientation workshops on using the produced materials are planned for the Geraldton and the North Metropolitan regions. Years 7-10 workshops will also be held in the Geraldton region. Education Department teachers and principals are invited to these workshops.
