The 2019 MAWA Primary & Secondary Conference
The Mathematical Association of Western Australia invites you to the Primary and Secondary Conference to be held at the Crown Convention Centre, Burswood from 18-20 November. We are very excited to have Penny Crossland and Eddie Woo as our keynote speakers. Penny is our primary keynote on Monday and Eddie as secondary keynote of Monday and Tuesday. Eddie will also present an intimate presentation for primary teachers on Monday afternoon.
The theme “Making MATHS Matter” highlights the importance of mathematics in dealing with an increasingly complex world; economically, socially and environmentally. Our world is comprised of numbers, patterns, shapes and so much more, and all big ideas have their foundation in mathematics. Maths is key to helping us better understand and appreciate the world in which we live. It is a way of thinking, questioning and exploring everything around us!
Over the three days there will be plenty of opportunities for professional learning and networking. Registrations open 1 July, so take advantage of the earlybird discount and join us at another exciting and informative MAWA Conference.
