Suppose a student averages 58% over a year, which earns them a C grade. What does this say about their ability to demonstrate grade-specific skills? Busselton SHS new Year 7-9 assessment and grading procedure does not use the overall percentage as we find it inaccurately reflects students' actual skill sets. Our procedure is built on the premise that to achieve a certain grade, a student should be successful at most of the content at that standard. Students have become more engaged and better understand their areas of strength and weakness. Staff conversations are clearer and grading is more confident and transparent.
