Cheryl Praeger inducted into the Western Australian Science Hall of Fame

Professor Cheryl Praeger AM FAA is notably one of the world’s leading mathematicians. She is known best for her work in the fields of Group Theory, Algebraic Graph Theory and Combinatorial Designs. Professor Praeger is a pioneer for Women in Mathematics and her list of awards and honours, over an amazing career, is outstanding. On the 9th March 2016 she was inducted into the WA Science Hall of Fame, in recognition for her lifelong contribution to Mathematics in Western Australia. First established in 2007, the Western Australian Science Hall of Fame recognizes people who have made outstanding contributions to Western Australia in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). Mathematics, as a discipline, is integral to all aspects of STEM and we at MAWA congratulate Professor Cheryl Praeger for being awarded this honour. Her acceptance speech is both inspiring and informative and I would recommend you taking the time to read her valuable words.
